It has been argued that there really can be no definition of religion. Every person defines religion in his or her own way. Ferraro uses a broad definition of religion to describe it as “a set of beliefs in supernatural beings and forces directed at helping people make sense of the world and solve important problems.” Every society and every individual has their own way of practicing and recognizing religion. They may not define it or recognize it as religion, but there are certain habits, patterns, behaviors, and beliefs that can be distinctly recognized as some form of broad “religion.”  Throughout this site, I will examine two different cultural groups, The Azande and the Ju/’hosani, and how they view religion.
